Leukade is a single-variety red wine made with Tempranillo grape variety and 14 months in new French oak casksm by Tobelos Bodegas y Viñedos. It is spiced and with perfect balance. Garnet cherry with purplish rim. Black well-ripened fruit (plum, blackberry, blackcurrant) lactic, high roast coffee, spices (clove). Powerful, tasty, strong generous tannins, well balanced, good concentration, lively and long finish. Aftertaste with fruity aromas and balsamic sensations of excellent oak.
An excellent choice with red meats, game, poultry, fishes, semi-hard cheeses.
Tobelos Bodegas y Viñedos is a minimalist and innovative singular construction that breaks down classic stereotypes. In addition, the latest technologies in oenological processes are used.
The winery is sits on a natural viewpoint with breathtaking views due to its high position over the vineyard, over the landscape and winding course in Ebro River.
Tobelos is set on an ancient settlement of over 900 years as shown recently by its necropolis´ discovery which is located in the grounds of the winery.
The concern by the winery on our own history, not here, who also owns a vineyard with over 80 years having known archaeological remains of Fonsagrada.
You can see the remains of a chapel and a cemetery dating from the tenth century – XI. There is also a well that may be of Roman origin. It is believed that the whole was in a monastery.
