Bodegas de los Herederos del Marqués de Riscal had the pleasure of hosting the gala dinner of the IX International Symposium of Master of Wine Institute thanks to Foundation for the Culture of Wine.
It was the first time that Spain hosted this important symposium that brouht together more than 400 experts from the wine’s world in Logroño, to discuss the main challenges that the sectir has to face.
It is the main event in the world of wine and is celebrated every four years, Logroño got the candidacy against rivals from Switzerland, Australia and Portuga. All this thanks to the work of the Foundation for the Culture of Wine that is formed by the wineries: La Rioja Alta S.A., Muga, Terras Gaudas, Vega Sicilia, Herederos del Marqués de Riscal and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Enviroment.
A previous event was hold outside where all the wineries of the Foundation could offered their wines to the attendees. A gala diner was then offered at the Marqués de Riscal winery, at which time they took the advantage of the occasion to give everyone the recent book «A travel through time» written by a Master of Wine, Andrew Caillard.

Bodegas de los Herederos del Marqués de Riscal had the pleasure of launch the past Thursday, 13th of june, its new book «A travel through time» written by the Master of Wine Andrew Caillard,at the Lux restaurant in Madrid.
The launch of this bool match with the celebration of the 160th anniversary of Marqués de Riscal, for this reason, the entire company’s board, together with the author and his wife, attended in a magical cocktail to the wine professionals, journalist, clients and friends. Those who lived the presentation of this wonderful book in live.
A book that gathers Andrew Caillard’s passion for Rioja and its wines. This project cames out after a historical event that took placed in November 2015 in the City of Wine of Marqués de Riscal, «the tasting of the century». A selected group of international experts tasted 111 vintages that tells the more than 150 years of history of the winery. After the success of this meeting, Andrew Caillar (MW) proposed to write a book about the history of wine from Rioja and Spain, in which Marqués de Riscal stands out.
