
The Association of the Auxiliary Wine Industry organizes the II edition of ‘Strengthening the wine chain’ with companies, experts and professionals of the wine chain to discuss its role in trends in the world of wine
On May 30 and 31, the Palace of Congresses and Auditorium of La Rioja-Riojaforum will host the II edition of ‘Strengthening the wine chain. Deep transformations in the wine sector ’. It is an initiative organized by the Association of the Auxiliary Wine Industry, integrated into the Federation of Companies of La Rioja (FER), which “will make an important leap in relation to the first edition” held in June 2023.
In the presentation to the media, its president Elena CECA explained that the wine sector is experiencing a deep transformation linked to diverse factors, changes in consumer preferences, important technological advances, climate change, innovation in containers, or regulations and government policies of great impact.
The II edition will gather companies, experts and professionals from the wine chain to discuss trends in the world of wine, promote the exchange of knowledge, collaboration and innovation, and favor adaptation to the changing demands of consumers worldwide.
The results of the discussion will help shape strategies and actions for a more sustainable, more innovative and more competitive wine industry.
A two -day program
On the first day, on May 30, at a master conference, the Master of Wine Pedro Ballesteros will explain the transformations of the wine sector worldwide and consumption trends.
Speaker María Laura Ortiz Chiavetta will address the marketing of wines in the world. After her intervention, Francesc Font, of The Retend Academy, will talk about the land for vineyards and review 10 years applying regenerative agriculture, experience and results.
The program will host two round tables. The first will deal with innovations in the wine industry linked to the challenge of sustainability and reduction of the carbon footprint of the wineries. Miguel de Valenzuela, commercial delegate of Bondalti Water AEMA will participate; Rodrigo Bermejo; Gon-Cruz managing director; David Blanco, manager of food stainless; Sergio Mamolar, Technical Director of Intranox; Roberto Riaño, commercial director of the Vinícola Division of Marzola and Alfonso Álvarez, partner of QE2 Engineering.
The second round table will address the innovations that our sector proposes to support wineries in relation to traceability and the challenge of digitalization. They will intervene from José Sáenz de Santamaría Pombo, general director of Rivercap; Elena CECA, CEO & 4th generation of Murúa Treasurer; Ana Otero, director of Dolmar Tentamus; Diego Pascual, Corporate Director of Innovation of Ramondín, Iñaki Gurría, founder Ceoe de Jig and Carlos Tarragona, CEO of Spectralgeo.
The morning session will be completed with a tasting of international wines, bilateral meetings previously scheduled and visits to companies of the Association of the Auxiliary Wine Industry and Technical Implementations in Bodega or Third Companies.
The next day, on May 31, the day will focus on making visits to companies of the Wine Auxiliary Industry or Warehouse Implementations or third companies.
Promote and strengthen the importance of auxiliary companies
The Association of the Auxiliary Wine Industry, integrated into the FER, aims to boost and strengthen the importance of the auxiliary companies of La Rioja whose main activity includes the areas of design, elaboration, manufacture and/or services in the production and commercialization of wine.
He wants to be a business reference with his own identity, promoting the competitiveness, innovation and internationalization of his companies. Promote the Rioja Quality Seal in the Wine Auxiliary Sector both and nationally and internationally, with the endorsement of the expertise and knowing how to give them their years of experience working with Rioja's wineries.
The business organization has 29 associated companies, which employ 1,170 workers and a business volume around 215 million euros.
