
World’s Best Vineyards (WBV), the prestigious international contest that annually announces the list of the best vineyards in the world, has appointed Ester Bachs as the new co -president of the WBV Academy in Spain. Bachs assumes this position, happening to Patricia Mateo, founder and CEO of the Mateo & Co agency, now part of Vocento Gastronomy, who served the presidency in the first four editions of the World’s Best Vineyards held in London in 2019, in Sonoma County (California) in 2020, in Rheingou (Germany) in 2021, in Mendoza (Argentina) 2022, and in July 2023, in La Rioja (Spain).
In his new role, Ester Bachs will assume responsibility for the voter panel in charge of choosing the best wine destinations in 2024 in the Spanish territory. His work will include the strengthening of tourist destinations in wineries and the impulse of the number of visitors.
Bachs joined William Reed, the company that owns WBV and IWC, among other events related to the world of wine, in 2013 as an ambassador of the International Wine Challenge of Spain (IWC) and events coordinator of the London company. In his new role as co -president, Bachs considers that this is a crucial moment to promote wine tourism, especially through the creation of sustainable and modern spaces, opportunities in restoration, accommodation, training and connectivity. All this is especially relevant in a time as disruptive as the general tourism faces.
In addition to its appointment as co -president of Spain, Ester Bachs will continue to perform its functions as an ambassador of the International Wine Challenge (IWC), the most influential wines contest in the world, and event coordinator of the company William Reed Ltd. de London.
Ester Bachs has extensive professional experience of more than 18 years in the marketing and communication sector, with a particular emphasis on the execution of events and public relations. Highlights her work as director of Marketing and Public Relations in Vinventions, a leading multinational in wine closures, and previously her prominent role as director of the premises Vinari, the competitions that annually promote Catalan wines, their wineries and vermuts. He also does collaborations as a writer, journalist and formations for universities, as well as in the representation of brands.
